As a historian and connoisseur, Mr. Fu Sheng’s essay “On Painting: A Study on the Painter Issue” clarifies the original creator of the landscape painting theories on the southern and northern schools over the past three hundred years and its influence and confirms that the author is Dong Ci-chang. His identification of “The Original Look of Shengshan Tu (The Remaining Mountain) and Fuchun Scroll” restores the true history and makes excellent contributions. As an art creator, Mr. Fu Sheng masters ink painting, calligraphy, ceramics and stone and has his own personal characteristics.

The exhibition includes more than 80 works of calligraphy, painting, and ceramics created by Mr. Fu Sheng. Among them, there are mainly the 60 pieces of calligraphic works. He excels at all scripts including seal script, clerical script, regular script, running script, and cursive script. His regular script is elegant, clerical script unsophisticated, seal script stately, and running script combining the elements of different calligraphic styles of different generations. His stroke is free and smooth with the blank in lines showing the beauty of vigor and strength.
