January 19 Our hall and Buddhist Association of the Republic of China co-host the spring couplet writing activity, “Promoting Folk Customs, Wielding Ink Brushes, Writing Spring Couplets, and Enjoying the Chinese New Year.” The most characteristics ever in the past years have made several new records. There were 70 celebrities from eight major fields attending the opening ceremony and 108 calligraphers invited to write the spring couplets for the public. January 25
The activity “Light the Lanterns of Fraternity: Zhong Shan Youth Passion” invited the marching band, honor guards, and color guards from Zhongshan Girls High School to perform for the public.
To promote cultural equality, show concern for the disadvantaged, and extend the spirit of fraternity of the spring couplet writing activity on January 19, our director-general Liang Yung-fei specially visited Zhong Qin Village, Wang-hua District, Taipei City, to give 100 spring couplets to the residents together with the village chief Fang He-sheng and wish the villagers a happy new year.
“Children’s Art and Culture Winter Camp” took place. There were diverse and abundant courses including: learning the architectural symbols, outdoor ecology, spring couplet writing and inscription rubbing, tea ceremony, and floral design.
“When Kacalisian Culture Meets the Vertical City: Contemporary Art from Greater Sandimen” took place at Bo-ai Gallery. The distinguished guests attending the opening ceremony included: Deputy Minister of Culture, Li Lian-quan, Deputy Minister of Council of Indigenous Peoples, Zhong Xing-hua, Director of Indigenous Peoples Cultural Development Center, Zeng Zhi-yong, and our director-general, Liang Yung-fei. The activity of “Making Yuan Xiao, Enjoy Yuan Xiao, and Fun Yuan Xiao” took place. We invited the director Li Xing to be the distinguished guest and the teachers and students from Yangming Home for the Disabled and Guangfu Elementary School to participate. The activity included the DIY experience of making Yuan Xiao, making “Peaceful Lanterns” by hand, and writing moral education cards. There were also the great performances of Master Lu’s Chang Xing Keelung Lion Dance Group and the diabolo team led by the coach Lu Ji-xian to celebrate Lantern Festival with the public. There were more than 1,000 participants of the activity.
Director of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, Nanjing, Wen Hui-bin, and Deputy Director of Publicity Office, Zhongshan Mausoleum Management Bureau, Mei Ning, visited our hall and the director-general Liang Yung-fei. The special guide of our hall received and guided them to Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s history and the beauty of the construction.
Our hall was granted the outstanding award of Taipei City Excellent Tourist and Leisure Spot. Mayor Ko Wen-je gave the award and General Planning Division Chief Huang Shu-xun received the award as a representative.
The press conference for the strategic alliance between Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and schools took place. Our director-general Liang Yung-fei, Department of Education, Taipei City Government, and 14 schools signed for the strategic alliance together. Wego Private Bilingual High School, Zhongshan Elementary School, Chingshin Academy, and Juang Jing Vocational High School joined the exhibition and performance.
The activity “Light the Lanterns of Fraternity, Pass Love Forward” took place at Taipei City Yangming Home for the Disabled. Our director-general gave the 13 colorful lanterns designed and painted by our hall, visited the home, and interacted with the residents.

January 6 We invited Assistant Professor Mr. Xu Ming-Song of Ming Chuan University for the cultural lecture in January. He will talk about “Several Anecdotes about Post-war Architecture in Taiwan,” which is mainly based on the Luce Chapel of Tunghai University, and features a vivid and in-depth account of the old story of Taiwan’s post-war architecture. February 3 We invited Prof. Du Zhong-Gao of the Department of Chinese, NTNU to talk about “the cultural mind and Taiwan’s future.” From the cultural angle, he cares about the future of Taiwan and expresses his opinion on how to reinforce the artistic aesthetics and promote calligraphy and cultural literacy to stimulate mental growth. February 4 At the main entrance and the east-side and west-side corridors, our hall co-hosted the “Wu Xu New Year Spring Couplet Writing Event” with the Chinese Shufa Arts Organization. We invited the Political Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Interior Hua Jing-Qun, member of the Examination Yuan Xie Xiu-Nan, President of the Taiwan International Calligraphers Association Chen Jia-Zi, President of the Chinese Shufa Arts Organization, and our Director-General Lin Kuo-Chang to conduct the demonstrations, encouraging the public to create the spring couplet themselves, promoting calligraphy culture, and implementing lifelong learning. February 7 “Greeting the New: Contemporary Taiwanese Ceramic Sculpture Artists Joint Exhibition” was held at the Bo-ai Gallery. The number of the participants on the day was about 2,500 April 20 “The 81st Taiyang Art Exhibition: Expressing Feelings through Artworks, Eternal Praise” was held at Bo-ai Art Gallery and Culture Gallery on the first floor. April 21 Our Hall and the Genesis Social Welfare Foundation cohosted the charity fair “Multiplied Love, Connected Hearts” at the west-side square of the fountain of Chunshan Park Square in response to the expansion project of the foundation’s Taitung branch. April 26 Chungshan Lecture Hall holds the keynote speech “Daily Life Law: How to Protect Personal Information” and Lawyer Zeng Yun-jun of Taipei Law Attorneys-at-Law was invited to serve as the speaker, explaning the related regulations in public sector collection, processing, and using of personal information to enforce the protective concepts and methods in conducting public affairs for the colleagues of our Hall. April 30 The Japanese artist from Kyoto, Shiko Itoh, led group members to pay a visit to the Memorial Hall. Ms. Shiko Itoh visited each of the exhibition venues of our Hall, accompanied by the Japanese expatriate overseas community affairs commissioner, Mr. Wang Hui-Sheng. Director-general Lin Guo-chang received them in person. May 1 The collection review meeting (Chinese Painting Group) took place. Among the 496 prize-winning works of the Chinese painting group in the calligraphy and painting contests for young students held by our hall in the early years, 98 works passed the review and were included in the third-class collection, including Bai Zong-ren, Lin Jin-zhong, Zhang Jin-yong, Xiao Jin-xing, Huang Cai-song, and Gao Yi-huang. The rest of 398 works were listed as the reference works in collection. May 7 Calligraphy Art Park and Second Conference Room held the workshop of the calligraphy inscription rubbing, “Seed Teaching Program,” and invited Mr. Zeng An-teng to lecture on the related courses. The colleagues from each division attended enthusiastically and learned a lot. May 10 Finance Committee, Legislative Yuan, came to our hall to inspect the budget and closing account execution of the national cultural institution operating fund and the improvement project for the wheelchair-accessible facilities. We invited the famous calligraphers and painters including Lin Jin-zhong, Chang Bing-huang, Chen Hong-mian, Cai Ming-zan, and Shao Wen-hu to do the ribbon-cutting together with our Director-general, Lin Kuo-chang. We also invited 19 indigenous children from Wulai Junior High School and Elementary School, New Taipei City, to join the rubbing experience. May 17 Ministry of Culture came to our hall to conduct the 2018 on-site counseling and investigation of the national cultural institution operating fund application. Director-general of Department of General Planning, Hong Shi-fang, led the team of eleven persons including the two external and internal committee members of Ministry of Culture, Liao Ren-yi and Pan Xiao-xue, to attend. May 27 Our hall, Sun Yat Sen Academic and Cultural Foundation, and National Development Council co-host the academic seminar of “Reflection on Sun Yat-Sen’s Principle of People’s Livelihood” at Chungshan Lecture Hall and First Conference Room. There were 18 academic papers published and about 90 participants. May 29 “Experience Rubbings of the Tablet Inscriptions: The Seed Students Educational Training on Rubbing” took place at Chungshan Lecture Hall. Prof. Lin Xue-qing of National Taiwan Normal University was invited to give a lecture based on the traditional wet rubbing, demonstrating “cylinder rubbing,” “crayon dry rubbing,” “water color wet rubbing,” “ink dry rubbing,” “ink cylinder rubbing,” “ink printing,” and “water printing.” The participating students could fully understand the diverse art techniques of inscription rubbing. June 2 For the culture lecture of June, we invited Honorary Professor of National Taiwan University Hospital, Dr. Chen Yao-chang to talk about “Temple of the Dutch Princess, Tjaquvuquvulj, and Huai Army: The Forgotten Taiwanese History” and share a piece of Taiwanese history forgotten by the world. June 4 Our hall worked in coordination with “Wan An Exercise No.41,” the military and civil air-defense drill. Director-general Lin Kuo-chang went on an inspection tour of the hall and listened to Security Guard of General Planning Division to explain the implementation situation. June 9 “Eternal Architect and Poet,” the memorial ceremony of architect Wang Da-min took place at Lecture Hall. Minister of Culture Zheng Li-jun was delegated to award the presidential citation and Wang Da-min’s son, architect Wang Shou-zheng, received it as a representative. The experts and scholars including architect Zhan Xun-ci, architect Xie Yuan, architect Wang Shou-zheng, assistant professor Xu Ming-song, and Xu Bo-yuan architect office attended the symposium, discussing the features and essence in Mr. Wang Da-min’s design of our hall and illustrating that the future engineering design and construction will stick to the emphasis on the cultural assets to reinforce the maintenance and management from the angle of preserving the cultural assets. June 23 "Chen Rui-fu: Sea” took place at Chungshan National Gallery. June 30 Our hall and Taiwan Public Television co-host the 20th anniversary celebration of the station, “Toward the New Era of the Media.” “PTS 20th Anniversary Celebration Party” took place at our Auditorium. July 7 For the culture lecture of July, we invited Director of National Museum of History, Liao Hsin-tien, to give a speech on “A Retrospect of the Three Cases in the Development of Taiwanese Print.” In terms of the development of the Taiwanese modern print, the style is composed of the western abstractionism and combined with the traditional elements. Zhou Ying (1922-2011), Liao Xiu-ping (1936-), and Li Xi-qi are the three different typical representatives. July 7 Our hall and Legislator Lin Li-chan’s Office co-host the event “Cultural Fraternity, Friendly Equal Right: A Fun Family Trip to Green Lake.” Featuring the “lotus,” the event includes: taking a trip to Green Lake (Cui Hu)(ecological introduction to plants and lotus), sharing the lotus stories of different countries, drinking lotus tea, and color-painting the lotus cups. We invited 15 new immigrants’ family members to participate in the event for free. The number of the total participants was 60. July 11 Deputy Commissioner of Department of Cultural Affairs, Taipei City Government, Tian Wei, and the members of Cultural Heritage Value Review Project Team came to our hall to do the on-site inspection. July 31 “Simple and Naïve: Ms. Sun Sui-hua’s Oil Painting Exhibition” took place at Wen-hua Gallery. Our hall and Jizhong Foundation co-host the academic seminar “The Sixth Sun Yat-sen Forum: National Revitalization and Civilization Conversation” at Chungshan Lecture Hall. Our director-general Lin Kuo-Chang, Jizhong Foundation Chairman Chen Wen-Hua, and director of Institute of Modern History, Chinese Academy of Social Science, Wang Jian-Lang co-host the opening ceremony. Sixteen papers were published during the two days. There were 160 participants.
Chief Zhang You-Chuang of Bureau of Cultural Heritage and Prof. Xue Qin were invited to the lecture on Cultural Heritage Preservation Act of our hall, explaining the management, maintenance, and practice of the cultural heritage to our colleagues. The colleagues responded enthusiastically and benefited a lot from the lecture.
For the culture lecture of September, Prof. Li Xiao-kun of Taipei Lecture Hall was invited to talk about “Why do we learn calligraphy?—The Way to Enforce the Country and Enrich the People,” leading the audience to understand the beauty of calligraphy, as well as the content and important value of calligraphy writing.
The 2018 collection review meeting (Western Painting Group) decided on the new collected works, including the eight works such as Chen Yang-chun’s “Yat-sen, Traces of Lotus,” Chen Zhang-xiong’s “Symphony of Blue and Green,” and Chen Rui-fu’s “Classification of Meat Textures.”

The distinguished guests including President of The Control Yuan Zhang Bo-ya, Minister of Science and Technology Chen Liang-ji, member of The Control Yuan Liu De-xun, member of The Control Yuan Yin Zuo-nian, Deputy Minister of Education Yao Li-de, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Xie Wu-qiao, and Deputy Mayor of Taipei City Deng Jia-ji attended.
The handover ceremony of the former director-general Lin Kuo-chang and the new director-general Liang Yong-fei. Director-general Liang used to be Counselor of Ministry of Culture and was commissioned by Executive Yuan to serve as the 11th director-general of our hall. On the same day he signed the official documents and received the seal.
The ten members of the visiting group from Wuhan Museum, Hubei Province, visited our hall and met Deputy Director-general Yang Tong-hui. October 3 The 2018 collection review meeting (Calligraphy Group) decided on the five collected works, including Du Zhong-gao’s “Tian Xia Wei Gong,” Jiang Yi-han’s “Qing Shan Yong Bu Lao,” Xue Ping-nan’s seal carving “Bo Ai Xin Chuan,” and the works winning “Chungshan Award” from the calligraphy group of Chungshan Youth Art Award, Deng Jun-hao’s “Three Poems of Han Shan-zi” and “Couplet: Jin Shi, Huang Ting.” October 6 “2018 The Golden Bell Awards Ceremony” took place at our Auditorium. The distinguished guests including Minister of Culture, Zheng Li-jun, Deputy Minister, Ding Xiao-jing, and Director-general of Bureau of Audiovisual and Music Industry Development, Xu Yi-jun, attended. October 14 The five visiting group members of Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association, Los Angeles, returned to Taiwan to pay a floral tribute to Dr. Sun Yat-sen statue at our hall. The special guide of our hall received and guided them to Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s history and the hall construction. November 3 We cohost the charity bazaar “Happiness and Fraternity” with Eden Social Welfare Foundation to increase the multi-cultural understanding and recognition. We specially invited the new immigrant parent-child dance troupe and second-generation students to perform saxophone and share the new immigrants’ hometown delicacies from the South. November 6 We host “2018 Foreign Students Chinese Speech Contest.” There were sixty foreign youths from sixteen public and private universities and colleges and fourteen countries in Asia, America, Europe, and Africa. After the eight-hour contest, Fan Bo-wen, from Peru, won the champion, Ma Shu-lin (Thailand), the second prize, Ta Li (Russia), the third prize, and Lin Sen (USA), the fourth prize. There were also twelve merit awards. November 6 We host “Cultural Exchange Visit of the Japan-Taiwan Parlimentary Goodwill Association from Wakayama County Counsil, Japan.” The chairman of the association, Ozaki Yoji, gave the precious replicas of the letters between Sun Yat-sen and Minakata Takeshi Kusunoki. Director-general Liang Yung-fei received them on behalf of the hall. November 9 “2018 ‘Chungshan Youth Art Award’ Exhibition” took place at Bo-ai Gallery. Our director-general Liang Yung-fei gave the prize of NT300,000 and trophy to the winners, Qiu Yi-ning (ink painting), Yu Tong-sheng (calligraphy), and Lin Ying-zhen (oil painting). November 12 In memory of Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s 153th birthday, we host the book-giving activity “Hold Books in Arms.” Our director-general gave books in person. There were grandmas at the age of ninety-five and eighty-eight coming to receive books accompanied by their family. The visitors took part actively. November 12-14
In memory of Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s 153th birthday, we host the series guides to the movies on cultural equal rights: “Blue Brave: The Legend of Formosa in 1895” for the Hakka, “303” for the new immigrants, and “Lokah Laqi” for the indigenous people. There were 159 participants.
November 15 Our hall recevied the “Visiting Group of Morrison Academy, Taichung” and provided the English guide to Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s history and the related exhibitions. November 16 “Wild Ink: A-Sun WU Modern Ink Painting Exhibition” took place at Chungshan National Gallery. The ditingusiged guests attending the opening ceremony included: famous artist, professor Li Qi-mao, former director of Bureau of Cultural Heritage, Ministry of Culture, Mr. Wang Shou-lai, and our director-general, Liang Yung-fei. Duration: 11/16-12/25. November 17 The Motion Picture Foundation, R.O.C. host “The 55th Golden Horse Awards Ceremony and Red Carpet” at our hall. The distinguished guests included: Minister of Culture Zheng Li-jun and deputy minister Ding Xiao-jing. November 27 The keynote speech “Gender Equality in Korean Drama, CEDAW” took place at Chungshan Lecture Hall. The lecturer of National Open University, Zhang Xue-fang, was invited to give the speech. December 3 Sun Yat-Sen Academic and Cultural Foundation, Chinese Culture University, and our hall co-host “Sun Yat-sen Thinking and Contemporary National Development Seminar.” There were nine papers presented and about 110 participants. December 5 Ministry of Health and Welfare host the 2018 “National Excellent Volunteer and Corporate Volunteer Groups Award Giving Ceremony” at Auditorium. The distinguished guests included: President Tsai Ing-wen and Deputy Minister of Health and Welfare Lu Bao-jing.
December 8 “Danlu Calligraphy Society 90th Anniversary International Calligraphy Exhibition” took place at Bo-ai Gallery and Culture Gallery on the first floor. The distinguished guests attending the opening ceremony included: Chairman of Danlu Foundation Lian Sheng-yan, advisory committee member Zeng An-tian and Chairman Xiao Hui-xing of Danlu Calligraphy Society, and the researcher of our hall Zou Qiu-qiang. Our deputy director-general Yang Tong-hui led the colleagues in charge of the related business to do the practical examination and experience exchange of the tourist spot service. December 19 The strategic alliance meeting of our hall and schools at all levels was convened. The director-general Liang Yung-fei host the meeting, which invited Department of Education, Taipei City Government, and thirteen principals from elementary school to high school to participate. It is expected that the strategic alliance of the different industries will provide the young students with the stage to show their learning results and create the highest efficacy together. December 19 The member of the Canadian parliament, Ms. Alexandra Mendes, led a group of seven persons to visit out hall. The special guide of our hall received and guided them to Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s history and the exhibitions. December 20-23 The deputy director-general, Yang Tong-hui, led the 14-person group of the Taiwanese scholars to attend the 6th cross-strait seminar, “In memory of Dr. Sun Yat-sen: National Rejuvenation and a Community of Shared Future for Mankind.” There were 42 papers presented and about 300 participants. December 21 To encourage the disabled to “create the chance and embrace the hope,” our director-general Liang Yung-fei held the present-giving activity together with Chungtun Company and Taipei City Yangming Home for the Disabled before Christmas. December 22 The exhibition “Ink Ocean Reflection: Taiwan Marine Art Association VS Korean Ink Painting 2000” took place at Bo-ai Gallery. Duration: 12/22(2018)-1/2(2019). December 22 The public toilet of the memorial hall was granted the outstanding award of the tourism group by Taipei City Government, 2018. The deputy director of Department of Environmental Protection, Taipei City Government, Cai Ling-yi, gave the award. December 23 President of The Control Yuan Zhang Bo-ya visited “Wild Ink: A-Sun WU Modern Ink Painting Exhibition.” Our director-general Liang Yung-fei accompanied and guided her. December 25 The deputy speaker of Legislative Yuan Cai Qi-chang visited “Wild Ink: A-Sun WU Modern Ink Painting Exhibition.” The artist Mr. A-Sun Wu and our director-general Liang Yung-fei accompanied and guided him. December 25 On December 25, a Christmas concert took place in front of the Dr. Sun Yat-sen statue at the main entrance of the hall. The elders in the neighborhood and citizens were invited to celebrate the Christmas together. The string orchestra of Guangfu Elementary School and the children with Down Syndrome from Down Syndrome Foundation gave the lively performance. The four distinguished guests including our director-general played Santa Claus and gave candy on the scene. December 27 Our director-general Liang Yung-fei invited one of the artists co-painting the hall collection “The Return of the Spring, The Rejuvenation of the Country,” the one-hundred-year-old calligraphy and Chinese painting master, Mr. Wu Ping, as well as the ink painting master, Mr. Li Qi-mao, to our hall and share the memories about the co-painting experience in the past. "The 80th Taiyang Art Exhibition - Reaching the Summit" was held at Chung-shan National Gallery and Bo-ai Gallery. Such prominent figures as Mr. Lai Hao-min, ex-president of the Judicial Yuan, Mr. Liao Le-yi, a former senior advisor to the Office of the President of the Republic of China, Lin Pao-yao, the chairman of the Zhangqihua Culture and Art Foundation, Mr. Huang Kuan-nan, a former official of the Executive Yuan, and Lin Kuo-chang, the Director-General of Memorial Hall visited the exhibition.

April 13 The consultative meeting of the "Operation and Management of Business for Museum Shops" was convened and hosted by Huang Shu-hsun, the manager of the General Planning Division. April 13 Huang Chien-min (fourth from the left), the Director-General of Sun Yat-sen's Residence Memorial Museum, located in Cuiheng Village of Guangdong Province in mainland China, accompanied by Huang Tung-hsiang, the vice president of Taipei World Kwong Tong Community Associations (third from the right) and the secretary-general Huang Hsin-mei (third from the left), visited the Hall with other important guests as a so-called "courtesy call". They were received by Hall Director-General Lin Kuo-chang, with whom they also held a forum on the exchange of different cultures. April 21 The exhibition of drama figures in "Rhyme and Sentiment", the performance by The National Taiwan College of Performing Arts to celebrate its 60th anniversary, was held at both Wen-hau Gallery and the Culture Corridor (2F). The headmaster and professors of the College, Chang Jui-pin, Li Chi-mao, Ou Hao-nien, and Chang Pin-huang, and Hall Director-General Lin Kuo-chang all enjoyed attending the opening ceremony.

The editing conference for the 22nd periodical of the Journal on "Sun Yet San's Studies" was convened, and the publication date is expected to be May 16th.
April 27 The printings of the new book "Pay it Forward from the Heart" in limited edition was completed for National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall's 45th anniversary of its founding. May 5 The Hall co-organized “Poppies of Remembrance – In Memory of the Fallen in Gallipoli” with the Turkish Trade Office in Taipei at Wen-hua Gallery, displaying works of Turkish painter Hikmet Çetinkaya. The opening ceremony and cocktail party, which was held on May 5, included a performance of traditional Turkish music and a live painting show. The works were given to the Ministry of Culture at the event. Director of the Department of Cultural Exchange Wu Shao-kai represented the Ministry in accepting the gift. Many guests around the world gathered at the event, including Representative of the Turkish Trade Office İsmet Erikan, Representative of Australian Office Catherine Raper, and Representative of New Zealand Commerce and Industry Office Moira McDonald Turley, as well as representatives from offices of 24 nations in Taiwan, such as Germany, Slovakia, Kiribati, etc. and Director General of the Hall Lin Guo-zhang. Director General of the Hall Lin Guo-zhang presented the photos taken by the winners of the 2016 Photography Contest “Beauty of National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall.” Wang’s son, architect Wang Sho-zheng, represented his father to accept them. Architect groups involved in the construction of the Hall that year, including architect Xie Yuan, architect Zhan Xun-ci, engineer Luo Zhi-lang, architect Yu Zao-chuan, Prof. Hua Chang-yi, Prof. Liang Ming-gang, and engineer Wang Da-ren, also attended the event. May 16 To convey the past 45 years of happy memories, the Hall chose 60 topics for Hall personnel to write about and edited the book Legends of Fraternity, first released at the 45th anniversary ceremony. May 16 Prof. Zhang Yu-teng was invited to give a keynote speech on “Trends of Museum Aesthetics” at the anniversary ceremony. May 16 The book sharing activity “Celebrating with the Hall by Reading Books” was held in the west corridor of the Hall, where a total of 936 books, including publications, journals, and magazines regarding Sunology and art were given away. May 16 The Hall and teachers and students of the Life Aesthetics Program, including “Chinese Floral Design A, B” and “Tea Culture” had displays at the “2017 Exhibition on Floral Design and Tea Culture” in the east and west spaces on the 1st Floor. May 24 Running Cattle: Shaih Lifa’s Exhibition was displayed at Chungshan National Gallery from May 24 to July 2. May 25 Director of Student Affairs and Special Education Zhen Nai-wen, Chairperson of the Sculpture Association of Taiwan Wang Xiu-qi, Wang Sho-xuan, Xie Dong-liang, and Chairperson of the Kelti International Art Charity Association Chen Si-fan, all attended the opening ceremony for the 2017 Lin Zhao-qing’s Sculpture Exhibition—Meet with the Mountain City, on display at Boai Gallery from May 25 to June 6. May 25 Hakka Journey: Provincial Highway 3 as a Formosan Landscape was on display at Wenhua Gallery and the Culture Gallery on the 2nd Floor from May 25 to June 25. May 31 To make the space of the Hall more active and develop more professionalized and internationalized exhibition quality, the Hall integrated and planned the central core area on the 1st Floor, previously the administration area, and turned it into a perfectly functioning exhibition area, the “Boai Gallery.” With an area of about 180 pings, Boai Gallery is not only equipped with complete fireproof equipment but also an air conditioning system that can maintain constant temperature and humidity. The renovation construction began in February 2016 and was completed on November 10 of the same year. It was officially examined and accepted on May 31, 2017. June 3 Director-General of Academia Historica Wu Mi-cha was invited to give a speech: “Modern Transformation of the Historical Development in Taiwan” for the “Lectures on Culture” series in June. June 3 The Director of Association of History Professors in America, China Fang Qiang, led his group to visit the Hall. June 8 Yoshinobu Nisaka, the governor of Wakayama Prefecture in Japan, led a group of visitors to the Hall. Director-General of the Hall Lin Guo-zhang, accompanied by Researcher Zou Qiu-qiang, Chief of Extension Service Division Wang Bing-lun, and Deputy Researcher of Research and Acquisition Division Liu Bi-rong personally received them. June 24 The Hall co-organized the Conference on “Sun Yat-sen’s Democratic Theory and Political Development in Taiwan” at Chungshan Lecture Hall with the National Development Society of R.O.C. and other facilities. June 26 The Curator of Guangdong Museum of Revolutionary History, Yang Qi, led a group of visitors to the Hall. June 26-30 Director-General of the Hall Lin Guo-zhang led scholars inform the Taiwan and Chinese Alliance for Solidarity to Vietnam and co-organized the Conference on “Sun Yat-sen and Vietnam” with the College of Social Sciences and Humanities, National Vietnam University, Hanoi. A total of 14 papers were published (seven from Taiwanese scholars and seven from Vietnamese scholars). They also visited Ho Chi Minh Museum and the historical sites of Sun Yat-sen’s revolution in Vietnam. June 28 The Police Broadcasting Service held the “Safe Road Trip—Cross Generation Light Concert” in the Auditorium to advocate road safety measures. July 1 Associate Prof. Pan Fan, Department of Cultural Assets and Reinvention, FGU was invited to give a keynote speech on “The Images of Demons and Ghosts in Eastern and Western Art” on July 1 for the Lectures on Culture. July 17 To cope with the renovation of the 3F Collection Storeroom and De-ming Gallery, the space of History Room would be shifted to the Research and Acquisition Division as the storeroom preparation room while the General Planning Division would start related preparations. July 20 Collection Deliberation Meeting (Calligraphy Group) was held. 34 pieces of calligraphy works passed the evaluation and were listed in the collection, including one of the four major calligraphers in R.O.C., Tan Yan-kai’s “Excerpt of Sun Guo-ting’s Calligraphy”; contemporary calligrapher Du Zhong-gao’s couplet “Carry on the past and path a new way for the future”; Hu Nian-zu’s “Good Words from Sun Yat-sen”; and Xue Ping-nan’s “One of the Eight Views at Yongcui Lake.” July 25 Deputy General-Director of the Hall Yang Tong-hui, leading the staff of the Electrical Engineering Division and Theater Management Division to visit and learn from the National Taichung Theater, including the large, medium, and small theaters and the stage of the outdoor theater so as to understand further the planning of each facility and seat (including accessibility seat). July 30 Secretary-General of Sun Yat-sen Foundation Zhong De-chang led the Guangdong Outstanding Youth Taiwan Visiting Group to visit the Hall. August 10 In 2017, the 29th Summer Universiade Torch Relay took place at the square in front of the fountain at Chungshan Park, attracting an audience of hundreds for the torch and cheering on the participants. August 21 A consultation meeting regarding the construction of the Taipei Dome Complex and the south wing entrance to the underground passage of the Hall was organized by the Director of the Hall, Lin Guo-zhang. Among those invited to attend the meeting were architects Xie Yuan and Zhan Xun-ci, who have been involved in construction around the country, as well as Xicun Village Chief Yan Chang-sheng, Xinglong Village Chief Luo Song-mei, Zheng-he Village Chief Yin Jun-fu, Zhengsheng Village Chief Chen Xiu-lan, Huasheng Village Chief Chen Jin-hua, and representatives of other related units. September 2 Former Director of the National Palace Museum Feng Ming-zhu, former Deputy Director Zhang Lin-sheng, Deputy Director of the National Museum of History Gao Yu-zhen, Ceramist Chen Jin-liang, and the director of this hall, Lin Guo-zhang, and many others, attended the opening ceremony for Birth in Fired: Evan Shaw, which was displayed at the Wenhua Gallery from September 2 to September 27. September 10 This hall and the T.F.C.F Taipei City Southern District Office held a large campaign called “Parenting For You” at the square to the west of the fountain in Chungshan Park. September 19 Director of the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association in Northern California, US Visiting Group, Guan Jian-zhong, led a group of members to visit the hall and make donations. October 14 In 2017, Yan Xie-qin, head of the management and administration seminar of Overseas School of Northern Thailand led a 36-person delegation to visit the memorial hall. October 22 “The 2nd Cross-Strait Sunology Research Young Scholars Forum” took place at Chungshan Lecture Hall. Former President, Ma Ying-jiu was invited to give a keynote speech. A total of 27 papers were presented by young scholars came from both sides of the strait. October 24 In 2017, Chairman Chen Jia-hua led a group of 36 members from the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association of New England to visit and pay tribute to the Memorial Hall. October 26 “Yao Qing Ji Yuan - Prominent Expatriate Artist in Japan, Fu Yi Yao's First-ever Solo Exhibition in Taiwan” was held at Bo-ai Art Gallery. Duration: 10/26-11/2. October 31 Co-chairmen, Fang Jie-zhou and Ma Pei-dao led a delegation of 36 members from the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association Los Angeles to visit and pay tribute to the Memorial Hall. November 2 Wen-hua Gallery exhibited “Arts & Fashion”. November 11-12 The Memorial Hall jointly sponsored the 2017 National Academic Conference “In Honor of Sun Yat-sen: Fairness, Justice, and Social Development” with the Guangzhou Sun Yat-sen Foundation, Shanghai Chungshan Society, Sun Yat-sen Academic and Cultural Foundation, and Chinese Alliance for Solidarity. Attending scholars came from Japan, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Mainland China, and Taiwan, and distinguished guests were from all walks of life. November 12 The prize presentation ceremony of the “Chungshan Youth Art Award” was held at Bo-ai Art Gallery. January 7 “New Creation—Zhang Jin’s Exquisite Art” displayed in the Chung-Shan National Gallery is a sculpture from Zhang Jin. The Deputy Minister for Education, Lin Si-ling, Dean Lu Mu-lin and Prof. Luo Hui-ming of Ming Chuan University, and other guests of honor attended the exhibition. The exhibition was held from January 7 to February 16. January 29 The National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Cross-Field Value-Adding Project was approved by Executive Yuan. February 5 The National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Cross-Field Value-Adding Construction Commissioned by the Project Management Technology Service won its bid. February 15 Renovations and reinforcement of the main building and the Hall stage was started. February 16 The addition of the Boai Gallery and renovation of public areas was started. February 23 The first meeting of the first ”National D. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Culture Participation Promotion Group for Physically-Challenged People” was convened. March 12 The conference, the “Application of Digital Technology: A New Approach to Sun Yat-sen’s Research” took place. The total of 6 papers was published. March 12 Sun Guo-xiong, the great grandson of Sun Yat-sen, provided more than 40 books related to Sun Yat-sen that he had collected to the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall (including the Outline of Nation Building Handwritten by the Prime Minister). March 12 The award ceremony of the 2015 Research Papers on Sun Yat-sen’s Thinking and National Development candidates was held. Three candidates in the PhD Group, Chen Ying-song, Xu Shi-zong, and Huang Cai-bi and one candidate in the MA Group, Lai Yong-wei, were selected. March 12 Prof. Wang Xiu-qi donated two of his pieces of bronze sculptures, “Grandpa Telling a Story” and “Breeding” to Chung Shan Park of the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. March 12 In honor of the 91st anniversary of Sun Yat-sen’s death, a series of events took place with attendance from President Ma Ying-jeou, along with Vice President Wu Dun-yi, Deputy Chairperson and Party Member Representative Huang Hui-min, Chairperson of People’s First Party, Song Chu-yu, the New Party National Committee and Party Member Representative Li Xin, etc. A total of 13 groups consisting of 1617 people paid tribute to Sun Yat-sen’s statue and laid flowers. March 14 The second meeting of the first ”National D. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Culture Participation Promotion Group for Physically-Challenged People” was convened. March 29 The first meeting of the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall collection review and assessment of the Chinese Painting Group was held: 15 pieces of work were evaluated at the first level, and 14 at the second level. May 16 The series of celebration for the 44th anniversary of the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall included tree planting at Calligraphy Park at the west side of Chung Shan Park, a book-giving activity “Celebrating the anniversary with a festival of books,” with the 20th volume special issue of the “Sunology Research” being published, publishing the book “Inheritance and Innovation: In Memory of the 150th Birthday of Sun Yat-sen (Volumes 1 and 2)”. May 19 Key Points for the Establishment of the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Life Aesthetics Program, the Key Points for Evaluating the Teachers of the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Life Aesthetics Program, and the Key Points for the Establishment of Deliberation Meetings of the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Life Aesthetics Teachers and Courses Program were enacted. May 24 Renovations and reinforcements of the main building and hall stage were completed. June 3 Former President Ma Ying-jeou’s wife, Zhou Mei-qing, attended the 2016 event “Night of the Indigenous Children—Amazing Music and Dance,” featuring traditional song, dance, and musical performances of indigenous children held in the Main Hall. June 4 “The Master Piece Forever—Liu Wen-wei’s Individual Exhibition” was held at the Chung-Shan National Gallery from June 4th to June 29th. June 10~14 The Director of the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall took research scholars of sunology to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to work at the Chinese Center, UTAR, and co-organized the "International Conference on Sun Yat-sen and Chinese in Southeast Asia." A total of 16 papers was released. June 12 The Director of the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, Lin Guo-zhang, took research scholars of Sunology to Taiwan to visit the Sun Yat-sen Museum at Perak Tong, Ipoh, Malaysia and held a forum with the curator and host, Perak Tong Zhang Ying-jie. June 18-July 20 The National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall co-organized the “2016 Tour Exhibition—the Life of Sun Yat-sen” with the National Taitung Living Art Center. The Exhibition took place at the Experiment Gallery and the Hope Gallery of the Center as a way of interacting with the local community and city cultural facilities to promote Sun Yat-sen’s great feat. The Exhibition is held from June 18 to July 20. July 2 The opening ceremony for “Creative Art—Deng Xue-feng’s Paintings” exhibited at Chung-shan National Gallery was attended by Deputy Minister of Culture Xu Qiu-huang, former President of National Taiwan University of Arts Huang Guan-nan, famous ink painter Prof. Li Qi-mao, Director of Taipei Veterans General Hospital Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology Chen Liang-gong (Attending Physician of Prof. Deng Xue-feng), and former Minister of National Defense Wu Shi-wen, among others. The exhibition period is 7/2~7/31. July 19 Deputy Director of the Secretariat of the Ministry of Culture Huang Zhi-tao led his colleagues to examine the conditions of public property management at the Hall. July 19 To propagate the spirit of universal love and promote art and culture, the Hall particularly held the “2016 Beauty of National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall” Photography Contest. October 7 A total of 11 Old Photo Memorial Awards and 10 Old Photo Honorable Mentions were selected at the Meeting for the Evaluation of the Historical Development of the Hall and East District, Taipei City. The prizes and certificates of gratitude were given to the winners listed in the activity brochure. October 16 The Hall and the Fund for Children and Families held the “3rd Difficult Life Festival” at Chung Shan Park Plaza. The activities included umbrella sewing and other missions so that participants could experience the difficulties of a disadvantaged family’ life. November 10 The Business Interchange Meeting between the Research and Collection Division, National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall Management Office and the Research and Acquisition Division, National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall was held. November 11 The Hall and Overseas Chinese Association co-organized the “Academic Forum in Memory of Sun Yat-sen’s Birthday” at Chung Shan Lecture Hall. 1.For “Paying Tribute Together,” Kuomintang, a total of 1761 people, including Former President Ma Ying-jeou, Former Premier Hou Pei-tsun, and people from the New Party, People First Party, and other political parties, associations, and clubs all bowed to the statue of Sun Yat-sen.
2.The Hall and the Chinese Alliance for Solidarity co-organized the “Chorus in Memory of Sun Yat-sen’s 151st Birthday” Concert on the front steps of the Main Hall. December 1 The DVD film “Happy Marks of East District, Taipei—National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall” was officially played at the exhibition hall and related spaces starting from this month. December 2 Director-General Lin Guo-zhang, Director General of National Palace Museum Lin Zheng-yi, Legislators You Mei-nu, Su Qiao-hui, and Yao Wen-zhi, President of Pu Tian-Sheng Foundation Pu Hao-ming, and Director-General of Pu Tian-Sheng Memorial Museum Pu Hao-zhi, attended the opening ceremony of the “Asakusa and Pu Tian-Sheng Sculpture Exhibition for Three Generations” on display at Boai Gallery from 12/2 to 12/27. December 3 Former Senior Advisor to the President Liao Liao-yi, Director-General of the National Museum of History Zhang Yu-teng, Director-General of the Hall Lin Guo-zhang, and former Director-General Wang Fu-lin, among others, attended the opening ceremony of the “40th National Oil Painting Exhibition” on display at Chungshan National Gallery from 12/3 to 12/14. December 4 The Hall co-organized the “Conference on Sun Yat-sen’s Thinking and the Development of the 21st Century” with the Graduate Institute of National Development and Mainland China Studies, the Chinese Culture University, the Sun Yat-sen Academic and Cultural Foundation, the Society for the Study of Religious Philosophy, and the Chinese Alliance for Solidarity. In total, nine papers were published. December 6 Online registration for the 42nd Life Aesthetics Class was made available in combination with the Ministry of Culture’s consolidated information system and the launch of the “Artistic and Cultural Activity Management and Registration System.” In this way, information related to artistic and cultural activities can be integrated and the registration procedure simplified. It provides more convenient services and excellent quality to the general public. December 8 The Sun Yat-sen Studies Database was completed. In 2016, new functions were added, and the data were digitalized. The full text inquiry of the English version of the Three Principles of the People became formally available online. More than 600 conference papers were added as a reference of the general public. December 9 Working with the Society of Overseas Chinese Studies, R.O.C., the Hall held the 2016 “Conference on Sun Yat-sen’s Thinking, Southern Policy, and International Situation” at Chungshan Lecture Hall. A total of 12 papers were published. December 17 Former Vice President Wu Den-yih, former Premier Hao Pei-tsun, former Premier Su Tseng-chang, former President of the Examination Yuan Hsu Shui-teh, Director-General of the Hall Lin Guo-zhang, etc. attended the opening ceremony for the “Joint Exhibition by Au Ho-nien and Chen Ching-jung” on display at Chungshan National Gallery from 12/17 to 12/28. December 19 The Yu Youren Inscription Area at Lake Tswei, Chungshan Park was renovated. Curvy Screen Inscriptions at both sides, the protection facility of the raised monument, and benches were added. The surrounding plants were redesigned to improve beautification. December 23 Director-General of the Hall Lin Guo-zhang hosted the “2016 Talk with the General Public” at Chungshan Lecture Hall. More than 100 neighborhood residents and related personnel attended. October 30 The “2nd Chung Shan Drama 2015" competition of micro-film productions was held, with three of the productions eventually being selected. October 31 to November 1 The “7th Annual Conference on Developmental Studies" was jointly sponsored with National Chengchi University, and a total of 87 academic papers were published. November 11-12 The international symposium on "Inheritance and Innovation - the 150th Anniversary of Dr. Sun Yat-sen's Birthday" was jointly sponsored with Academia Historica, Sun Yet San Academic and Cultural Foundation, Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation for International Scholarly Exchange, and The Institute for Advanced Studies in Humanities and Social Sciences (IHS) of National Taiwan University (NTU). More than 30 scholars and researchers on Dr. Sun Yat-sen's Studies from both Taiwan and abroad partook in the symposium, and about 20 academic papers and theses were published. November 12 The commemorative event of the 150th anniversary of Dr. Sun Yat-sen's birthday was sponsored and included the following events:
1. "Joint Group Tribute" with Director-General Lin Kuo-chang and the entire Memorial Hall staff, Hao Lung-pin, vice chairman of Kuomintang of China (KMT), Chen Yu-chun, chairman of Taipei Zhongshanese Association, and 31other groups. Almost 2,000 people attended to pay tribute and offer flowers to the bronze statue of Dr. Sun Yat-sen.
2. The National Taiwan College of Performing Arts performed "The Flying Flags and Dance Steps" and "The Lucky Lion Brings Prosperity".
3. The united performance of The Marching Band of Taipei First Girls High School.
4. The amazing spectacle performed by Chio Tian Folk Drums and Arts Troupe.
5. The music concert of "Relay Choir" was jointly held with the Chinese Alliance for Solidarity Association. The choir was joined by a crowd of a thousand people led by Hung Meng-chi of the Ministry of Culture, Chairmen Wang Yuan-jen, and Director-General Lin Kuo-chang in such patriotic songs as "Sun Yat-sen Memorial Song", "Plum Blossom", and "God Bless R.O.C.", all of which were beautifully sung.
6. The grand opening ceremony of the traveling exhibition of artistic compositions from the winners of the 2nd Ten Outstanding Young Persons' works of fine arts - "The Glory of Taiwan Lies in the Strength of Youth and Creativity" was held at Chung Shan National Gallery, as well as both Chung Shan National Gallery and Yat-sen Gallery. Many VIP guests, including Hsu Hsui-teh, the chairman of Sun Yet-sen Academic and Cultural Foundation, Professor Chou Yang-shan, Chen Wei-chao, president of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons Foundation, and Hsu Wen-Jung, the exhibition curator, were honorably invited to the event.

November 12 An exclusive book titled "Dr. Sun Yat-sen and Yu You-Ren - Revolution of Calligraphy Art" was launched. November 12 The installation of the six subsystem items from phase one of "Chung Shan Academic Data Archive" were completed, thus formally providing such inclusive functions as full-text search, downloading, and other personalized services to public users. November 12 The stage performance of "Taiwanese Beijing Opera - Dr. Sun Chung-Shan" was planned with the National Taiwan College of Performing Arts. Based on the acting style of traditional opera, the show was interpreted with quite an innovative perspective, and the stories of our National Father were told with an interesting tone of an artistic feature. November 18 The great-great granddaughter of Dr. Sun Chung-shan, Madam Christina Rose Seigrist, visited the Hall, and was received by Director-General Lin Kuo-chang Novembe 23-26 Several of our representatives were invited to join the 27th commemorative joint conference of Dr. Sun Chung-shan and Soong Ching-ling at Sun Yat-sen Museum, Penang. Novembe 24 The commemorative speech contest for the 150th anniversary of Dr. Sun Yat-sen's birthday was held for national high school students; 34 students submitted entries, and 8 were awarded. November 27 The colloquium on "Thoughts of Sun Wen in Rebuilding the World" was jointly sponsored with Kaohsiung Chung Shan Academic Studies, and 18 academic papers were published. November 30 The academic seminar on "Taiwan and the Revolution of 1911" was jointly sponsored with the Wuchang Uprising Society; nine academic theses were presented during the forum. December 5 The exhibit of "Gestalt Aesthetics - Chen Hui-tung's Oil Paintings" was displayed at Chung Shan National Gallery. Professor Chen was personally invited to the site to draw portraits of the Founding Father, which were also exhibited in real time, once completed.Exhibition Dates: December 5th to January 4th, 2016 December 14-18 Several of our representatives were invited to participate in the preparation conferences and meetings of “Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Taiwan's 4th Memorial Academic Seminar on Dr. Sun Chung Shan" in Guangzhou, China. December 22 The 2015 inspection affairs committee’s selection of the proper research and writings on Dr. Sun Yat-sen's thought and theory for national development was held. In total, three doctoral students and one master's degree student passed the examination. December 29 Conferences and meetings for the inspection and value assessment of classical collections were held. The task of backtracking and assessing 1607 pieces, which was accounted for all of the Hall’s collections, was achieved. December 31 The "Classical Collections Policy" was stipulated for Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall.
January 11 Our National Sun Yat-sen Gallery held the "Meanings created spontaneously - Lee Ku-mor's Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition" that displayed more than a hundred of Taiwanese Ink Painting Master - Lee Ku-mor's masterpieces. VIce president Wu Den-yih, former vice President, Lien Chan, former vice President Hsiao, Wan-chang, vice minister Hong, Meng-chi of Ministry of Culture and other VIPs came for a visit. Exhibition Period: January 13 The permanent exhibition “Dr. Sun Yat-sen and Taiwan” was open in Dr. Sun Yat-sen History East Exhibition Room. Centered around “Crossing Taiwan’s Historical Trajectory and Seeing the Beauty of Democracy,” it applied multimedia animation to show 10 units including “History of Taiwan’s Beauty,” “Taian’s Factor to Sun Yat-sen’s Revolution,” “Revolutionary Organizations in Taiwan,” “Sun Yat-sen’s Three Tours in Taiwan,” “Influence of Revolutionary Heroes on Taiwan,” “Response of Taiwanese Pioneers to China’s Revolution,” “Taiwan’s National Movement Under the Influence of China’s Revolution,” “Taiwanese Commemoration of Sun Yat-sen,” “Taiwan Restoration and Inheritance of Sun’s Thoughts,” “Practices of the Three People’s Principles in Taiwan,” and so on. February 14 The former U.S. senator Brown (Scott Brown) couples came to visit the Hall and received by deputy curator Lin Guo-chang in person. February 24 The former U.S. senator Scott Brown and his wife came to visit the Hall. Deputy Curator Kuo-chang Lin welcomed them in person. March 12 To commemorate the 89th death anniversary of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the curator with all staff of the Hall paid tribute to the bronze statue of Dr. Sun Yat-sen. 28 groups with 1475 people including Kuomintang Party Chairman Ying-jeou Ma and the representatives of the party, former premier of Executive Yuan Pei-tsun Hau, legislator Tung-hao Li, the representatives of New Party, and others came to salute the bronze statue of Dr. Sun Yat-sen. The dedicated group of New Party sang “Sun Yat-sen Memorial Song” in the front square of the Hall to show their memory of past. On the morning of the day, the Hall held the plantation activity “Dear Sapling” and invited “Zhongshan Elementary School” and “Bo Ai Elementary School” in Taipei to join. The plantation activity was brought to a successful and happy close. March 12 The “Opening Ceremony of Sun Yat-sen’s Bronze Statue” was held in Dr. Sun Yat-sen History East Exhibition Room. To commemorate the 89th death anniversary, the Hall particularly invites the famous sculptor Hsiu-chi Wang to produce a bronze bust of Sun Yat-sen to praise Dr. Sun’s revolutionary spirit and behaviors. The director of Sun Yat-Sen Cultural Foundation Shui-the Hsu, national policy advisor to the president His-chi Li attended the opening ceremony in person. March 12 To commemorate the 100th death anniversary of Fu-hsing Lo, the Hall held the “Conference on Sun Yat-sen and Fu-hsing Lo” where 9 research papers were presented. April 16 To commemorate the Father of the Nation and keep order in the lobby, the Hall since then held the activity “Saluting to Father of Nation” every day before the honor guards’ changing duty. The master of the activity would lead the tourists to salute the Father of the Nation and introduce and guide people to visit the important exhibitions in the Hall. April 22 Lin Xiong, the provincial party committee and the minister of united front work department of Guangdong, led the "Economic and trade culture delegation of Guangdong" to visit the hall and were received by Curator Wang Fulin in person. May 3 Out hall held the "90 Year-old Celebration of Art Master - Professor Lee Chi-mo and Cross-strait artists communication exhibition" in the National Sun Yat-sen Gallery, which displayed Professor Lee's classic works as well as the selected works from the artists across the strait. Vice President Wu Den-yih came to visit. Exhibition period: May 13 “At Scenes From Turkey: Isil Ozisik’s First Solo Watercolor Exhibition in Taiwan” washeld in De-ming Gallery to show the beautiful landscape in Turkish and the cityscape of Istanbul which has gone through three empires. Duration: 5/13～5/29. May 13 The “Delegation of Hawaii Congressional Leaders” led by Mr. Mark Nakashima, chairman of the House Committees on Labor & Public Employment, came to visit the hall. The curator Fu-lin Wang welcomed them in person June 18 “Key Role of an Expressive Eye: Wu-hsiu Li’s Solo Exhibition” was held in De-ming Gallery, displaying her 40-year artistic creation and exploration in claborate-style painting. The legislator Chien-ming Ke, commissioner of criminal investigation bureau Te-hua Lin, mayor of Hsinchu city Wen-chin Hsieh, and other distinguished guests came to visit in person. June 18 In 2014, “Delegation of Directors of Constituencies of Congressmen in America” which was led by the senator Johnny Isakson (R-Ga) and Mr. Jared Winfield Downs, the director of constituencies in the southeast of America, came to visit the Hall. The curator Fu-lin Wang welcomed them in person and accompanied them to visit the exhibition of “Kuo-Jen Shen’s Watercolor World” in the Chungshan National Gallery. June 30 The full text search system and e-books of Sun Yat-sen's three people's principles edited and collected by our hall was released online and opened for public use. July 27 The Hall held “Grandmaster Esteemed by Thousand Generations: Calligraphy Exhibition for Chiu-pu Tsao’s 120th Birthday Commemoration” in the Chungshan National Gallery. Chiu-pu Tsao had spent his lifetime in promoting calligraphy for over a century. The works composed by the grandmaster in different period display Taiwan’s painting and calligraphic heritages over the past hundred years. Duration: 7/26～8/19. September 18 The "2014 First Tang Award" was held in the auditorium of our hall. President Ma came to present the awards in person. November 6 To commemorate the 149th anniversary of Sun Yat-sen's birth as well as the 50th anniversary of Yu, Yozeng's death, a series of activity such as "Expo of Yu, Yozeng - the 50th death anniversary", "Salute to the bronze statue of Yu, Yozeng" and "International academic seminar" were held in the National Sun Yat-sen Gallery. President of the Control Yuan - Chang Boya, Chairman of Chinese Culture Foundation - Liu Zhaoshiuan, Chairman of Sun Yat-sen Academic Culture Foundation - Hsu Shueide and other VIPs came to visit. Exhibition Period: November 11 The Hall went to Shanghai and jointly held the “Academic Conference on Sun Yat-sen’s Thoughts.” There were 60 Dr. Sun Yat-sen Studies scholars attending the conference and 31 research papers presented. November 21 The renovation of the Hall’s parking lot on the Fuxing South Road and of the public restrooms in the Zhongshan Park were completed. December 12 Relocation and renovation of the Hall’s Dr. Sun Yat-sen Library was completed. The library was reopened. December 18 “2014 First Tang Prize” was held in the Hall. President Ying-jeou Ma came in person to present the award. December 19 The "Change the thought and learn unexpectedly - Chinese calligraphy and painting collection of modern times" jointly held by our hall and the Consortium Corporation of Sheng Ming Cultural and Educational Foundation was exhibited in the National Sun Yat-sen Gallery, covering more than a hundred of calligraphy works and paintings from Yu Youren, Chang Dachien, Pu Hsinshe, Huang Junbi, Hsu Beihong, Li Keran, Wu guanchong and nearly 40 other contemporary masters owned by collectors around the world. Exhibition Period: December 24 The "Sun Yat-sen's Files and Literature Exhibition" jointly held by our hall and the Nanjing Second Historical Archives of China exhibited precious historical files during the period of Nanjing Provisional Government and Headquarters of the Marshal of Army and Navy in Guangzhou. Exhibition Period: From December 20 to December 21 The Hall and the Society of Overseas Chinese Studies R.O.C. jointly organized “Sun Yat-sen and Overseas Chinese Conference” and invited Prof. Yang-shan Zhou at National Quemoy University to deliver a presentation on “Sun Yat-sen and Overseas Chinese” and Cheng Huang at National Taiwan Normal University on “Enlightenment of Sun Yat-sen’s thoughts on Chinese National Revival.” There were 8 research papers presented in the conference.
Jul.11~20 Held with the Core Pacific Group and the Sheen Chuen-Chi Cultural & Educational Foundation, the 4th Academic Forum and Exhibition of Modern Chinese Painting was exhibited in Yat-sen Art Center from January 11th to 20th. Mar.12 The association formed by Chuo University in Japan emphasizing the friendly relationship between Japan and Taiwan involved presenting flowers and witnessing a cherry tree planting. Mar.30~Apr.10 Held with the Chinese Teaching and Calligraphy Society, the Cross-Strait Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition of 4 Senior Artists—Qi-gong, Tai Jing-nong, Wang Jing-zhi, and Chen Qi-quan was exhibited in Chungshan National Gallery from March 30th to April 10th. Apr.30 Led by Mayor Arnaldo Samaniego and his wife, a party hailing from Asunción of the Republic of Paraguay paid a visit here. May.9~16 Held with the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in Japan, the 4th Taiwan and Japan Cultural Exchange Calligraphy Exhibition was exhibited in Yat-sen Gallery and the 2F Corridor from May 9th to 16th. May.15 Ambassador Carlos José Fleitas Rodríguez of the Embassy of Paraguay in the Republic of China led his group to present flowers. May.20 Mayor MAEHATA Junji of Arao City, Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan led his group on a visit and presented the gift of a photo of Dr. Sun’s visit to Arao City in 1913. May.28 Dr. Sun’s cloud information construction advisory session was held. (Attendants: Hsu Shui-teh, Li Yun-han, Lu Fang-shang, Yang Du, etc.) Jun.8 Minister Lung Ying-tai of the Council for Cultural Affairs attended the “Awards Ceremony of the 24th Golden Melody Awards,” which was held by the Bureau of Audiovisual and Music Industry Development, MOC. Jul.5~10 A mission went to Japan to attend the international academic seminar on “Dr. Sun and Japan” and “Dr. Sun and Peace in East Asia.” Jul.5~Sep.29 Held along with the Bright Ideas Design Co., Ltd. and the Qing Imperial Garden Research Center, and with the assistance of the National Center for Traditional Arts, the Beijing Haidian District Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and the China Arts & Crafts Exchange, “Yuan Ming Yuan — the Qing Emperor’s Splendid Gardens” was exhibited in Chungshan National Gallery, 2F West Corridor and Hallway from July 5th to September 29 th, 2013. Aug.5 The visiting missions of the legislature of Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and the Federated States of Micronesia paid a visit here. Aug.26 A new floating island was added to Lake Tswei of Chung Shan Park after construction from August 26th to September 4th. May.3 Dr. Chiang Wei-ling, the Minister of Education, presided the handing-over ceremony for Mr. Wang Fu-lin (on the right) as new Director-general. Oct.3 Jointly held by the Association of East Asian Relations, the exhibition of Judy Ongg’s woodblock prints was displayed in Chung Shan National Gallery and was attended by the President of the ROC, Mr. Ma Ying-jiu, in the opening ceremony. Oct.6 The President of the ROC, Mr. Ma Ying-jiu, attended the opening ceremony of Judy Ongg’s woodblock prints in Chung Shan National Gallery. Nov.3 A special exhibition of private banks to modern banking was held in Chung Shan National Gallery and 2F East & West Hall.
Feb.13 “The Wufeng Lin’s and Taiwan Memorial Exhibition” New Year Party was held in Dr. Sun Yat-sen History West Exhibition Room in the morning of February 13th with the attendance of President Ma Ying-jiu. Feb.19 “Sincere Love: An Exhibition Dr. Sun Yat-sen and Soong Ching-ling” and the opening ceremony (morning of February 19th) was held in Dr. Sun Yat-sen Library Mar.1 Mr. Tseng Kun-di succeeded Mr. Jeng Nai-wen (transferred to be the Director-general ofNational Taiwan Arts Education Center) as Director-general Mar.5 The President Ma attended the “Scouts’ Day activities” on March 5th in ChungShan Park. Mar.11 The opening ceremony of“Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Exhibition” was held in Dr. Sun Yat-sen Library together with the presenting ceremony of Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Provisional President office and living room models. Apr.23“Ten Thousand Years of A Hundred and Fifty Five Calligraphers: A Calligraphy Exhibition” was held in Chung-shan National Gallery (the opening ceremony on May 1st) with the attendance of President Ma Ying-jiu, Mr. Liu Chao-shiuan (president of National Cultural Association) and other guests. May.16 "The 23rd Joint Conference of Sun Yat-sen and Soong Ching-ling Monument" was held in Chung-Shan Building, Taiwan. May.19 The three co-chairpersons: Mario Diaz-Balart, Phil Gingrey and Laura Richardson of the Congressional Taiwan Caucus visited the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall under the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Jul.1 War and Peace: the Embedded Reporter’s Sino-Japanese War Photo Exhibition was held on July 7th in the Dr. Sun Yat-sen History West Exhibition Room. Jul.4The opening ceremony of“The special exhibition of Dr. Sun Yat-sen and the United States” was held in Dr. Sun Yat-sen Library with the attendance of President Ma Ying-jiu, Mr. Staton (Director of American Institute in Taiwan/Taipei) and other guests. Sep.29 The opening ceremony for “ROC 100thAnniversary Celebration: Joint Painting Exhibiton of Sun Yat-sen’s granddaughter Sun Sui-hwa and Huang Xing’s grandson Huang Shao-qiang” was held. Oct.8“The Unforgettable Century: the Republic of China 100th Anniversary since Xinhai Revolution” and the opening ceremony was held in Dr. Sun Yat-sen Library with the attendance of President Ma Ying-jiu, Vice President Xiao Wan-zhang, former President Li Deng-hui, former Vice President Li Yuan-cu and other guests. Oct.9“The Centennial Flame Relay” by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Council was held in the Chung Shan Park with the attendance of President Ma Ying-jiu. Oct.30 “The National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Regulations” and “The National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Organization Table” was announced by the Council for Cultural Affairs of Executive Yuan. Nov.12 “The ROC 100th Anniversary Thousand-People Community Singing” was held in the front and west square by the ROC United association.

Mar.27 Dr. Sun Yat-sen and Guangzhou Uprising: Penang Meeting and Overseas Chinese International Seminar was held in Penang, Malaysia. Jun.30 The Research of Dr, Sun Yat-sen and Cross-strait Relationship was held with the Hubei Wuhan University of Technology. Jul.25 For the 100th Anniversary of Penang Meeting, the charity movie Road to Dawn was shown under the cooperation of Penang Sun Yat-sen Museum. The Vice President Xiao Wan-zhang attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Oct.27 The Exhibition of Old Beijing was held in Dr. Sun Yat-sen Library and 1F Corridors. The opening ceremony was held on October 29th in front of the east entrance stairs together with the Four Generations Media Interview. Nov.12 The Wufeng Lin’s and Taiwan Memorial Exhibition was held in Dr. Sun Yat-sen History West Exhibition Room.
